吹く風と 谷の水とし なかりせば み山がくれの 花を見ましや

Without blowing wind in the air,
And flowing river water in the valley,
We would never be aware,
Flowers are blooming secretly,
Deep in the mountain beautifully.

< 寛平御時后宮歌合の歌 >
吹く風と、谷の川の水(流れ)が無かったなら、山奥深くの花を、一体見ることができるだろうか(見ることはできないだろう)。
(Appreciation)
Without blowing wind and blowing river water in the valley, we would never see flowers blooming secretly deep in the mountain beautifully.
