さくら花 散りぬる風の なごりには 水なき空に 波ぞ立ちける

Cherry blossoms scattered,
By the spring wind blowing.
In my eyes as if remnant reflected,
Were the waves of flowers rising,
In the sky without water dancing.

(鑑賞)
< 亭子院において催された歌合で詠んだ歌 >
桜の花を吹き散らした風の名残のように、花びらが空に舞い、水なき空にあたかも波がたっているようだ。
(Appreciation)
The cherry blossoms fell by the blowing spring wind. As if its remnant, it looks like waves of flowers rising in the sky without water.
