高い山(=高砂)の峰の桜(=尾上の桜)が咲いたのだった。人里近い山(=戸山)の霞(かすみ；春の代表的景物)よ、どうか立たないでほしい

In full bloom on the mountains away.
I wish it to be transparent and clear
In the sky with no mists dimly
Hung over the hills nearby.
