冬歌
< 雪の木に降りかかれりをよめる >
冬こもり 思ひかけぬを 木(ｺ)の間(ﾏ)より 花とみるまで 雪ぞふりける
紀 貫之
< Composed seeing snow falling on the trees. >
In deep winter,
It’s surprising,
Between the trees here,
As if flowers were scattering,
Snow is falling.

< 雪が木の枝に降りかかっているのを詠んだ歌 >
寒い冬の間に、思いもかけぬことなのだが、木の間からまるで花が散っているように雪が降っているのだ。
(Appreciation)
In deep winter, it’s somewhat surprising to find snow is falling as if flowers were scattering between the trees.
