萩の花を袖に散らして、高円の尾上(高円山の頂)の宮に 領巾(ﾋﾚ; ｽﾄｰﾙ)を振って(別れを惜しんで)いるのは誰なのだろう
(Appreciation)
I wonder who she is, waving her Hire* at the top of One, or Onoe, in Mount Takamado, as if missing someone?
It is during Hagi season, in the autumn, and Hagi flowers are falling on her sleeves.
* Hire: Long white stool, worn by imperial females, in ancient Japan.
