百首歌奉りし時 ﾋｬｸｼｭﾉｳﾀﾀﾃﾏﾂﾘｼﾄｷ
うぐひすの 涙のつらら うち解けて 古巣ながらや 春を知るらん

(鑑賞)
百首の歌をさしあげた時
うぐいすが寒い冬を耐え忍び、今、古巣にいながらにして、涙のつららがすっかり解け、春が訪れたのを知ったであろう。
When the hundred wakas were offered;
The bush warbler must be aware the spring is coming,
Perceiving in his old nest, after the cold winter, his frozen tears melting.
